You are invited to join us for an unforgettable trip to
some of the battlefields where our brave Americans fought and died for the
cause of liberty in WWII. We will tour the beaches of
Normandy (Gold, Juno, Sword, Utah and most famously, Omaha Beach). Among the highlights of our tour will be Pointe DuHoc where our
rangers scaled the cliffs paying a great cost of lives and St.
Mere-Eglise where our airborne division parachuted in the early hours of invasion day. Among
other things, we will have a prayer and praise service in the cemetery at Omaha
Beach. Before the tour of the beaches begins we will visit the amazing
war museum in Caen, France (Memorial DeCaen), which will set the tone for the tour. As we travel down the beaches of Normandy we will enjoy the beautiful french countryside.
Our bus will leave from Rhein River Baptist Church, Mannheim, Germany at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Sunday night, July 19. We can arrange an airport shuttle for you, if you so desire. From Mannhein, we will overnight on a luxury, air-conditioned coach and arrive in Caen, France at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20. You will be responsible for making your own hotel reservationS for any days/nights prior to the beginning of the tour on Sunday night, July 19 or after Wednesday, July 22 (Thursday night/early Friday morning we will be traveling on the bus back to Mannheim.).
We will tour the beaches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. At approximately 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, July 23, we will travel the short distance to Paris, France. In Paris we will enjoy a bus tour of such sights as the Arc de Triumph, the Champs Elysess and Notre Dame. The afternoon will be open for eating, shopping and a visit to the Eifel Tower, if you so desire. Tickets to the top of the tower are Euro15.50 ($17.00).
In the evening we will begin our overnight trip back to Mannheim, Germany, arriving at approximately 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 24. That will end our tour.
